Buffer layer effects on magnetic resonance in ferrite-piezoelectric bilayer

The present paper focuses on the investigation of the ferromagnetic resonance in laminate based on piezoelectric, buffer and ferrite layers. Electric field applied to piezoelectric layer gives rise to the thickness-dependent magnetic anisotropy in ferrite. In addition to the electrically induced resonance line shift, our theory provides evidence for electric control of magnetic resonance line width. The FMR line broadening is estimated in terms of component material parameters. For specific ferrite to piezoelectric layer thickness ratios, the buffer layer thickness dependence of FMR line broadening shows a maximum. The study described here can be useful for microwave applications.
