Efficient unconditionally stable FDTD method for periodic structures at oblique incidence

This paper presents an efficient implementation of the locally one-dimensional (LOD) FDTD method with complex frequency-shifted perfectly matched layer (CFS-PML) for solving problems of the oblique incident plane wave on periodic structures. By splitting only one field quantity Q_x and adopting the LOD scheme, the transformed Maxwell's equations are reformulated into a concise form. Compared with the split-field method and the previous periodic LOD-FDTD method, the proposed method has a much simpler scheme. The accuracy and efficiency of this method are verified by numerical results.
