Safety device for protecting persons against falling injuries

This paper presents an attempt to create a protecting costume for vulnerable people. The device that acts upon inflating the costume is based on an accelerometer, and all the data is processed by an Arduino microcontroller. The code is written in Arduino IDE. The purpose of this costume is to protect people (elderly people, sick or with locomotion problems, children, etc.) who can hurt themselves by falling on the ground. The work done so far consists in detecting the free fall of a person or a sudden movement and triggering a very fast chemical reaction by the device and the costume inflates due to the resulted gas.
