Managing structural and dynamic complexity in ICT projects

An integral comprehensive modelling is the keystone in the approach towards complexity management in the ICT projects. The identified layers: Project output, technology, processes (organization), individual, we-team and the environment calls for the suitable capabilities with a defined maturity level. Whereas of three capability components, namely the aptitude and psychomotor feasibility are out of the scope of this paper (they are treated in other research of the author), focus is placed on cognitive requirements. They are aligned with required actions in a project. For completeness purpose, the actions are bound into processes, and mutually scrutinized. Last but not least, the dynamics in a project is mitigated with agile cybernetics of the III order: with feedbacks through project, in a process, and in the mind of each project team member. This promising paradigm with 15 years of conscious deployment in the practice leads to inspiring further research objectives, indicated in the conclusions.
