Knowledge management practices in e-Government

Electronic government or e-government is an information and communication technology application that aims to provide more open interaction between governments, citizens, businesses, and other non-profit organizations. In those communication processes, there are knowledge transfer or exchange processes that must be covered and managed to accomplish the goal of e-government application. Furthermore, knowledge, rapidly evolving, is increasingly recognized as a powerful strategic resource for efficiency by all types of organizations and institutions either public or private. As the proposed solution, those processes can be covered by Knowledge Management (KM) approach. This paper aims to deliver insight into key drivers, benefits, challenges, KM system types and critical success factors for KM implementation in e-government. A total of fourteen research papers have been reviewed by using systematic literature review method named Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). As the result, there are six drivers, six benefits five types of KM system, six challenges, and nine critical success factors for KM implementation in e-Government.
