Outage analysis of a multihop cognitive network with energy harvesting from a primary cluster

In this paper, we analyze the performance of a multi-hop cognitive Decode Forward (DF) relaying network in terms of secondary outage probability (SOP) and secondary throughput. All the secondary nodes are energized by the energy harvested from the RF signal of a cluster of Primary Transmitters (PTs). The analytical expressions for harvested energy of the secondary nodes (including secondary source (SS) and secondary relays (SRs)), secondary transmit power are derived. The SOP and the throughput of the secondary network are derived, considering different number of hops and underlay cognitive constraint. Optimal number of PTs has been estimated for several number of hops.
