Analysis of optical cross-connects and beam splitters using beam propagation method

A 4/spl times/4 cross-connect and a 1/spl times/8 power splitter based on self-imaging waveguides are analyzed using the beam propagation method. The cross-talk levels in the cross-connect and power levels at the output of the power splitter are calculated.
