Improving the azimuth resolution of stripmap SAR image using Adaptive Weighted Norm Extrapolation

The content - This paper describes the procedure of application Adaptive Weighted Norm Extrapolation (AWNE) method on stripmap SAR image which was formed using Doppler Beam Sharpening (DBS) algorithm, in order to improve resolution in the azimuth axis. The characteristics of stripmap SAR recording are listed, as well as the causes of poor resolution in the azimuth axis of the DBS algorithm. Before using the AWNE method, the SAR data were modified in the azimuth axis. The result is that the resolution of the signal in the frequency domain is improved, which represents resolution improvement in the azimuth axis of stripmap SAR image.
