APF control with the use of the direction of the energy flow determination method in the electric circuit with a nonlinear load

On the grounds of the analytical analysis of an electric circuit by a thyristor the method for determining the direction of the energy flow in the electric circuit with a nonlinear load, based on the analysis of the sign of the active power corresponding component, is proposed. It is demonstrated that the correspondence of the sign of the load active power component to the sign of the same component of the network active power signifies that the corresponding harmonic voltage is caused by the network distortion. If the signs do not coincide, the corresponding harmonic voltage is caused by a nonlinear load. The proposed method was taken as the basis for improving the APF control with integrating the separation system into the system of compensator control.
