Efficiency analysis of microwave infocommunication systems for access to multimedia/interactive services

Microwave infocommunication multimedia radio systems in frequency band below 10 GHz are allowing to get access to audiovisual information (Digital television, Video on Demand, etc.), other types of information for group and individual users (wireless Internet access, interactive applications). There are many variants of implementation of such systems (that also referred as Microwave Multipoint Distribution infocommunication System (MMDS)), each of which has its own characteristics and performance. In this regard, task on conducting study of different variants of the implementation of the microwave infocommunication system is existing. The results of the studies of the current status of the development of multimedia delivery technologies based on MMDS standards are provided. Performance of different variants of MMDS system is estimated. The directions of further development of these technologies are proposed.
