Design of a multi-winding high-frequency transformer for DC-DC applications

DC network is one of the key facilities to realize energy internet and energy system integration. For DC-DC converters, which are energy hubs in DC networks, multi-winding high-frequency transformer can be used to realize the balance of power and voltage of each module in order to simplify system design. This paper proposes a design methodology of multi-winding high-frequency transformer for DC-DC applications including leakage inductance calculation, losses analysis and cooling system design. The method is applied to design a multi-winding transformer according to specific specifications. Finite element simulation results of the multi-physical field of the transformer show that the proposed method has high accuracy and practicability.
