Eye blinking detection for the detection of computer vision syndrome

Computers have become a vital part of our workplaces. Millions of computer users spend at least more than two hours in front of a computer screen daily. This excessive use of computers leads to a disorder known as “Computer Vision Syndrome”. Most of the computer users suffer from CVS. CVS causes irritation, redness of the user's eye. CVS directly affects productivity of a computer user and user becomes prone to make mistakes and hence, this is a serious issue for people working in industrial sector. In this paper, we have proposed a method based on feature extraction methods such as SURF and Harris corner detection to detect the uncharacteristic behavior of a human eye and prevent CVS by providing alerts. The proposed method provides highly accurate results.
