Critical operation point Predictive control of ejector refrigeration system driven by automobile exhaust waste heat

This paper proposes an ejector refrigeration system driven by automobile exhaust waste heat. As the waste heat varies with operating conditions, maintaining the performance of this system is a challenging task. This work focuses on the design of a model predictive controller for this system. Based on the characteristics of the ejector, the key controller objective is to fast track critical operation point to the set point value. To perform this task, a rigorous and systematic framework is employed. First, the ejector is simulated by CFD technology to find its critical operation point. Second, the transfer function model of the pump was established. Through Simulink technology, we built the control system and simulate it to verify the control performance. Simulation results showed that this control system has good steady-state performance and dynamic performance and it achieves the goal of small overshoot and short adjustment time. So we can improve the performance of system by using the MPC method.
