Demonstration of double electrode vertical-sliding triboelectric generator

Triboelctricity is a widely known phenomenon which occurs when certain materials gets charged as they come in contact with each other. The contact may involve tapping, sliding and rubbing such that electron exchange occurs that results in creation of net potential difference. This work presents a study of a double-electrodetriboelectric energy harvester. This harvester utilizes the sliding motion between a combination of MYLAR and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The observations are further plotted for output average voltage versus time and energy versus time graphs for various values of capacitances. The maximum voltage is obtained across μf capacitance which is 3.6volt in 300seconds. It is also observed that a maximum value 114.096 J/cm³ of energy is attained by 100μf capacitance in 300seconds.
