Advances in multi modal biometric systems: A brief review

Identity management through biometrics provides huge advantage over traditional systems. This paper provides an extensive review of various biometrics technologies. A wide variety of biometric modalities like finger print, palm print, iris, facial features etc. are discussed in detail. Later these modalities are compared using various parameters. We have also discussed various multimodal biometric systems and their advantages over conventional mono modal biometric systems. Various information fusion levels are also discussed in detail. This paper also presents future prospects and market trends for biometric systems.
