On a wind noise countermeasure for bicycle audio augmented reality systems

Various real time noise reduction methods that can actually be used in bicycles are systematically evaluated and compared, and the optimum wind noise countermeasure is examined. Accordingly, the effect of wind noise reduction by some wind noise reduction method was evaluated in terms of the intelligibility of the augmented navigation speech. In addition, we evaluated the influence of these measures on the environmental sound direction perception accuracy, since this is critical for detection of potential hazards. As a result, the Wiener iteration filter was found to be the most effective for wind noise reduction, but the combined use of a high pass filter and a windshield was also a well-balanced alternative method.
