Active-switched-capacitor-Γ-source inverter

A novel active-switched-capacitor-Γ-source inverter (ASCΓSI) is proposed in this paper. Compared to other topologies, the proposed inverter uses a Γ-shape coupled inductor and active-switched-capacitor cell to realize the higher voltage-boost ability, suppress the startup current and realize the continuous input current. The voltage gain can be adjusted by varying the turns ratio nr of Γ-shape coupled inductor within the narrow range of 1 < nr ≤ 2, and increase as the turn ratios decreases, which is beneficial to lower the turn ratios in the higher gain. The corresponding topologies and steady operation principles are analyzed. The simulation and experiment results have verified the validity of the theoretical analysis.
