Orientation and gap independent meta-surface bowtie antenna for WLAN applications

A meta-surface loaded bowtie antenna with orientation and gap analysis depicting multi-band features from 1.5 GHz to 7.2 GHz is proposed. The orientation and the gap between the meta-surface unit cells are altered to investigate the effect on parameters like gain, bandwidth and directivity. The bowtie antenna uses FR4 material with relativity of 4.6, loss tangent of 0.02 and thickness h = 1.5 mm as substrate. The measured results of the fabricated antenna show a positive agreement with the simulation results. The proposed antenna shows the application in the range of WLAN. ANSYS High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) software is used to simulate the antenna.
