Accelerated Degradation Testing Study on Smart Electricity Meter

The smart electricity meter (SEM) is important in our life, so consumers and manufacturers pay more attention to its reliability. In order to evaluate the performance of SEM, we must spend a lot of time censoring its status. For example, if we want to assess to the SEM reliability, it may take several years at least according to the standards. So accelerated degradation testing (ADT) and accelerated life testing (ALT) are useful methods to assess the performance of SEM. Since the ADT not only provides the failure information of SEM but also the degradation information, it is a more effective way to evaluate the performance of SEM which does not require the SEM failure taken place. However, there is no unified standard or outline for the accelerated degradation test of SEM. This paper introduces the research status of ADT and the importance of ADT to evaluate the reliability of product. This article describes how to carry out ADT experiments for SEM in detail. Finally, as an example, we make ADT experiment with the kind of DDZY102C-Z produced by the Wasion Group, and provides a theoretical basis and technical guidance for the application of ADT in SEM.
