5G accessibility optimization in high interference environments

The transmitted power of the very first message of access procedure to a 5G network is a relationship of initial power, offset, step power, and a number of re-transmissions. In the current networks, the access procedure is the same, whether or not there is external interference. A high external interference provide a higher probability to have access delay or fail. To mitigate this, the access procedure needs to switch from being independent to being dependent on interference. This paper introduces a new methodology for the internet of things and high power UE devices in a 5G network. The proposed method shows that the self-optimization network can rule and configure the devices in order to have a short time to access and lower access fails. A new tuning formula is developed for a 5G network to minimize the re-transmission. This leads to more capacity and less interference by letting the initial power and step power become a function of path losses of serving and neighboring cells and the amount of the external interference.
