Discrete KdV and Discrete Modified KdV Equations Arising from Motions of Planar Discrete Curves

We investigate the discrete-time motions of planar discrete curves, and derive discrete integrable equations on a two-dimensional nonuniform lattice. In particular, we obtain the discrete modified KdV equation and the discrete KdV equation, and establish a relationship between them.
