Energy-efficient grooming with distance-adaptive load balancing in flexible bandwidth optical networks

In this paper, we investigate the energy-efficient grooming with distance-adaptive load balancing (EEG-DALB) in flexible bandwidth optical networks. For comparison, an existing energy-efficient approach without grooming and load balancing (EEA-WGLB) is also introduced. Simulation results show that the proposed EEG-DALB achieves better performance in terms of the blocking probability and average power consumption compared to EEEA-WG.
