Dissimilar circular patch size antenna array with enhanced bandwidth and broadside gain

Design of microstrip antenna arrays using dissimilar circular patch elements is presented in this paper to cover the band 2.400-2.483 GHz required in IEEE802.11b,g applications. The following antenna prototypes were designed and built: circular patch antenna, 1×2 and 1×4 arrays. Proposed arrays presented an impedance bandwidth above to 100 MHz and 1×4 array synthetizes a broadside radiation pattern with gain more than 8 dBi and front-to-back ratio greater than 20 dB.
