Comparison of different three phase inverter topologies: A review

This paper presents a comparative review of three different three phase inverter topologies namely the PWM Inverter, 180 Conduction Inverter, and the Multilevel Inverter. The comparison between these topologies is carried out on the basis of percentage of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) that exists in the output voltage. In this work, each inverter operates at the 100V DC input. The complete analysis shows that the THD is approximately 28.94% for 180 Conduction Inverter, 9.93% for the multilevel topology, and lastly 2.03% for PWM inverter. The comparative results have been achieved in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. On the basis of detailed comparison of the different topologies, perfect results can be achieved for a fixed application.
