Rediscovery of Initial Habituation Importance Learned from Analytics of Learning Check Testing in Mathematics for Undergraduate Students

In response to the extensive use of computer systems in learning, we are now in the age that we can do the learning analytics using the huge-size of database. We have recently established the follow-up program system aimed at helping students who need basic learning and aimed at assisting teachers who have to engage in teaching a variety of educational students. In the follow-up program system, the learning check testing is included. All the first-year undergraduate students take the learning check testing at every lecture. Although the number of questionnaires is small and the testing time is short, investigating the trend of the correct answer rates and the final examination results together, it is revealed that those who failed in the final examination show the decreasing trend of correct answer rates in the learning check testing comparing to those who were successful in the final examination. Therefore, we again recognized the importance of initial learning habituation not only by intuition but also by statistical viewpoints.
