Study on Temperature Control Method of High Speed Ball Bearing with Oil-Air Lubrication

For high speed ball bearing, the oil-air two phase flow calculation model is constructed based on twobody fluid model and turbulent model, in which oil-air two phase flow are considered. The numerical study reveals the relationship between bearing temperature rising and rotating speed, oil viscosity, radial clearance, preload, ratio of air phase. Temperature control method of high speed ball bearing is presented. It is found that the biggest influence on temperature rise is ratio of air phase. In the air phase, there is an optimal value for ratio of air, such that the temperature rise of the bearing reaches the lowest value. Temperature control method verified by the temperature rising test of high speed ball bearing.
