Passively Q-Switched Ho,Pr:LLF Bulk Slab Laser at $2.95~\mu \text{m}$ Based on MoS2 Saturable Absorber

A passively Q-switched Ho,Pr:LiLuF₄ laser at $2.95~\mu \text{m}$ was demonstrated by using a MoS₂ saturable absorber, which was prepared by a liquid phase exfoliation method. Under an absorbed pump power of 3.77 W, the maximum average output power of 70 mW was obtained with a repetition of 85.8 kHz and a pulse duration of 621 ns. The results reveal that Ho³⁺/Pr³⁺-codoped LiLuF₄crystal is a promising candidate to generate 3- $\mu \text{m}$ pulsed laser.
