Understanding eGovernment utilisation within the SADC

The effective and efficient utilisation of eGovernment interventions can significantly enhance public service delivery. Several studies investigating eGovernment readiness, adoption, and acceptance in the context of developing nations have been conducted. However, the discourse of eGovernment utilisation remains subdued. There seems to be a mismatch between eGovernment investment efforts and utilisation levels by citizens — thus calling for empirical studies to investigate those factors that affect citizens' decisions to use eGovernment services in the SADC region. Underpinned by the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, quantitative data was analysed from 489 respondents using explanatory factor analysis and regression analysis to determine factors impacting eGovernment utilisation.
