Digitization of antenatal health card and integration with OpenMRS platform: System analysis and design

In this paper, we present system analysis and design of an electronic Antenatal and Child Health (e-ACH) system and antenatal mobile application for improving service delivery, reporting process, record keeping and information sharing. The presented analysis and design are based on interviews with the various stakeholders, literate review and field observations. Since Open Medical Records system is one of the common platform used in health information system, our e-ACH system is designed to be integrated with Open Medical Records system. In our analysis, we have identified the critical information recorded on the mother's ANC card and designed a system with key functions including registration of patients and the dangerous sign alert to the patient dashboard, reporting and sharing of information through mobile application.
