Dynamics and controller design of contactless electromagnetic de-tumbling for disabled satellite

Most of the disabled spacecraft are spun, which are dangerous to other normal work spacecraft. Therefore, the disabled spacecraft need to be cleared and the first step is de-tumbling its angular velocity to an acceptable value. This paper investigates the dynamics and controller design of electromagnetic de-tumbling, analyzes the effects of the Earth's magnetic field, the inclination and the orbit height, and utilizes the `Two-to-One' de-tumbling mode which eliminates the incidental electromagnetic force actuated on the disabled spacecraft.
