Transmission property analysis of electric-field coupled wireless power transfer system with CLC-S resonant network and experimental research

This paper studies the system of Electric-field Coupled Power Transfer (ECPT) based on the E-class amplifier topology. An CLC-S-compensated circuit topology is applied at the primary side to resonate with the power transmitting plates. The voltage gain model is presented with the help of the impedance transformation principle. There are three system parameters (the load quality factor Q, the normalized frequency μ, and the ratio of capacitance a) affecting the variation of the voltage gain. The influence of these three parameters on voltage gain is analyzed theoretically, and the theoretical results are verified by Simulink based simulation and test-bed based experiments. In addition, the optimum ranges of the three parameters that guarantee high power transfer efficiency are given according to the simulation and experiment results.
