The role of Wikipedia in transmitting knowledge based on higher education — Focusing on a possible value of formal and informal learning dimensions

This paper raises the question about the worth of digital content and online curriculum generated by the users and uploaded to Wikipedia. The research presented in this paper was conducted by electronic survey in June 2017 and was based on simple random sampling; the target group involved full time and part time students at BME. The research focused on students' attitudes towards the content of Wikipedia, in order to determine how the Web 2.0 content can be used in education. N=3D79 analyzable answers were received. The survey consisted of 16 closed questions.
