Real time validation of proposed control scheme of VSI for integrating three-phase loads/grid to DC microgrid

This paper presents the real time simulation and validation of a proposed control strategy of three-phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) for integrating the three-phase loads and utility grid to the DC Microgrid (DCMG). The proposed DCMG consists of wind turbine, solar-photovoltaic distributed generators, battery energy storage system, and loads. The proposed control scheme, using feedback and feed-forward control loops, has been implemented into two rotating d-q synchronous reference frames, with dual controllers. The testing, validation, and performance evaluation of the developed control scheme along with the proposed DCMG, is carried out on Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS).
