Fuel cell supported DVR for mitigating power quality issues

This paper presents a topology for DVR integrating Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel cell with closed loop boost converter as a DC input to the DVR. DVR is a series compensation device used to protect the system against sudden changes in the system voltage. Voltage flaws such as swell/sag, interruption and harmonics introduced into the system can be compensated using DVR as it injects appropriate amount of compensating voltage. The simulation results obtained using MATLAB are analyzed to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.
