Hexagon type (H-Type) sub-block: Multilevel inverter with reduced number of devices

In this paper a new hexagon type (H-Type) sub-block for multilevel inverter (MLI) is introduced suitable for both symmetrical and asymmetrical configurations. The proposed MLI consist cascaded hexagon type sub-blocks to generate more levels in output. The working of topology is presented in detail along with the possible switching states. PDPWM technique is used to generate modulation analysis of MLI. To ascertain the advantages of proposed MLI with other MLIs, comparison is presented in different terms. The operation and performance of the proposed multilevel is provided through simulation and experimental results to ascertain its performance. Finally, Equal power drawn from each DC sources is also presented for the proposed MLI.
