Predicting far-field radiation with the emission models of power converters

The high switching frequencies of power converters always lead to severe radiated EMI. The modeling and analysis of the converter with undesired antenna such as input/output cables are very important for the research on radiation. This paper first develops the model for undesired antenna in converters and discusses its relationship with the radiated power. Then the antenna's interaction with converter source impedances is taken into account and is explored in detail. Finally, the analysis is applied to a specific converter and verified by simulations and experiments.
