Frequency doubler with phase selection of ribbon beam electrons

The analysis of phase selection of the ribbon beam electronic flow modulated on speed is carried out during electron motion in the cross-sectional static deflecting field. It is shown that, using a narrow slot in the electrode surface which scans a beam coupling, it is possible to receive convection current in the form of the pulse sequence which passing frequency is twice more than the frequency of the oscillation executing preliminary velocity modulation. The offered way of velocity modulation transformation into modulation by density allows one to create an effective frequency doubler. It is shown that the relation of the output signal power with the doubled frequency to the power of the modulating signal is proportional to the relation square of the direct current beam coupling conductivity to the active conductivity of the input resonator.
