Evaluation of normative values of slow voltage variations

The paper examines the impact of primarily negative voltage changes within the normative values specified by effective state standard 32144-2013. The main problems connected with voltage deviations are indicated. The influence of voltage reduction on an electric lighting system is analyzed; job performance loss caused by reduction of lamp luminous flux is estimated. The obtained values of performance loss show that voltage decrease of the lighting network complying with requirements of state standard 32144-2013 results in substantial negative performance consequences. The impact of adverse voltage changes on asynchronous motors with squirrel-cage rotors is examined. A negligible effect of voltage reduction according to requirements of state standard 32144-2013 at a relatively small load of the main lathe motor is demonstrated by an example.
