A reactive impedance surface for enhancing antenna isolation on cylindrical platforms

An investigation into a design of a reactive impedance surface that can be used for wide bandwidth enhancement of isolation between transmit and receive antennas mounted on a cylindrical radio-frequency (RF) repeater is discussed in this work. Physical isolation measurements and numerical studies for the surface are considered. Up to 17 dB of isolation enhancement is achieved with the designed surface between the antennas at the lowest frequency of operation.
