Linearly and circularly polarized elements on sequentially rotated 2×2 arrays for 60 ghz bans

This work presents a comparison between four different 2×2 sequentially rotated array configurations. Two configurations use linearly polarized elements in the array, and the other two use circularly polarized elements. The arrays are designed for operation at 60 GHz, for body area network applications. All configurations show an axial ratio bandwidth of 11.6% at 60 GHz, with axial ratio below 0.5 dB. The arrays with circularly polarized elements showed a gain 6 dB higher than the arrays with linearly polarized elements.
