High-isolation metamaterial MIMO antenna

This paper presents the design of a metamaterial MIMO antenna which operates at 5.8 GHz. The left handed single cell of series capacitor and shunt inductor are considered the main block of the antenna elements. The configuration of the shunt stub is reversed to achieve lower coupling between the antenna elements The small size of only 2.93cm×2.6cm and high isolation of more than 35 dB are considered to be the main advantageous of the proposed metamaterial MIMO design. Experimental measurements of the fabricated antenna design agree with simulation results.
