A novel spin wave based antenna using magnetic materials

A novel antenna based on spin waves in magnetic materials is presented. By biasing magnetic field on the magnetic materials, the spin waves are generated and used to create electromagnetic radiation, thus forming the proposed antenna. Different with the conventional antennas, the proposed one excites the radiation by spin waves in magnetic materials instead of charge currents in conductors. Due to the intrinsic low-loss feature of the spin waves, the proposed antenna shows higher radiation efficiency compared with conventional ones where charge currents loss happens. To explain the proposed idea, the corresponding theory is deduced and presented, and also the schematic view of the proposed antenna is demonstrated.
