A fractal dual-band polarization diversity antenna for 5G applications

In this paper, a dual-band dual polarized antenna for 5G applications is presented. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 7.5×8 mm
²
and consists of a fractal patch with rectangular slot etched in it. The fractal patch is fed by two 50-Ω microstrip transmission lines to achieve dual polarization operation. The antenna presents two common 10dB impedance bandwidths of 3.6GHz (25.7-29.3 GHz) and 2.7GHz (37.740.4GHz). Furthermore, it possesses stable broadside radiation patterns and high gain with in both operating bands.
