Professor robert s. Elliott: A role-model educator, writer and researcher

The 1988 IEEE AP-S Distinguished Achievement Award recipient, Prof. Robert S. Elliott, was born on March 9, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away on September 24, 2009, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 88. This paper is a tribute to his legacy based on a collaborative writing which was done for UCLA and my interaction with Prof. Elliott that has significantly influenced my professorship career. Bob was an eloquent writer, superb teacher and first rate researcher whose work particularly in the area of slot array antennas produced many industrial applications. His books are considered classics and have inspired many generations of electromagnetic and antenna enthusiasts.
