Methodology of an Assessment of Building Construction Variants with the Use of Expert Systems

An investment project in the construction and development business involves numerous analyses and much preparatory work. Among the many decisions to make, the most important ones include the choice of specific construction, building material and technological solutions. To this end, a few variants are usually prepared for a given project. Other aspects than the ones mentioned above may include the location of a new building, the course of a road to be built or the issues concerning nature preservation. Making decisions in such situations is complicated, and the literature offers many approaches, methods and ways of selecting best options. To organize the decisionmaking process and to make the applied procedure simpler, it's suggested in this article to use a system based on expert opinions, arranged in an organised way at all stages - from choosing experts and assessment criteria, through the selection of methods employed, up to the verification of results.
