A new design of thermoelectric generator for health monitoring

The monitoring of persons who are suffering of health problems is a vital need to control their conditions. Health surveillance systems need a promising source of energy to be autonomous. Hence, harvesting thermal energy from the human environment is a potential solution for supplying such medical systems. The paper presents a study about thermoelectric generator (TEG) which converts the body heat into electricity. We propose a new design of TEG based on the properties of the material and the dimensions of this system. Then, the performance of the proposed TEG was evaluated with finite element method (FEM) in order to optimize the power.
