Efficiency optimization and autonomous converter support via a modular resonance unit

The objective of this simulation based study is to examine the performance impacts of supplementing a series resonant converter (SRC) with parallel battery storage interfaced through bidirectional DC-DC converters at the front and back end of the system layout. This system architecture is referred to as a modular resonance unit (MRU). Utilizing an idealized battery, the research contribution is to develop a technique that coordinates power dispatch between the parallel connected battery and the distributed generation interfaced through the power electronic converters to autonomously tune the modular resonance unit efficiency for varying load.
