Compensation for high frequency vibration in the terahertz radar imaging based on dominant scatterers

High frequency vibration of the platform or the targets is an inevitable problem in the field of radar imaging, and it has significant effects on the image quality, especially in the terahertz band. In this paper, a compensation method for high frequency vibration based on dominant scatterers is proposed. The essence of this method is estimation and compensation of the high frequency vibration by a decomposition of the range resolution cell which contains only a single dominant scatterer. In addition, a 0.44 THz radar system is built and imaging experiments are carried out. The performance of the method is verified by the high resolution imaging results of a corner reflector and an aircraft model.
