Tomographic imaging of composite samples using high-speed time-domain and frequency-domain terahertz tomography

We recently demonstrated high-speed time-domain and frequency-domain terahertz time-of-flight tomography. To investigate the applicability of these tomography systems to nondestructive inspection of composites, we have prepared glass fiber reinforced polymer samples. The samples have artificial internal defects such as delamination and inclusion, which have various sizes and thicknesses and lie at different depths. We present and compare tomographic images of the samples obtained using the tomography systems.
