Fluorine resin-coating of hydrated molecules for stable terahertz spectroscopy at low temperature

For middle or large molecular weight molecules, hydration seems to be important for stable crystal formation. In this research, new technique to maintain crystal structure of the hydrated molecular crystals even at low temperature in vacuum by fluorine resin spin coating has been proposed and confirmed. Fine structures of the spectra could be successfully obtained in such fragile middle molecular weight crystal of amoxicillin trihydrate.
